{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n ALDH1L1‐AS2 is a long non‐coding RNA that has recently emerged as a potential regulatory hub through its involvement in a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network. In a bioinformatic analysis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) transcriptomes, ALDH1L1‐AS2 was identified among four hub lncRNAs that likely modulate messenger RNA (mRNA) expression by sequestering microRNAs (miRNAs) (5). KEGG pathway analysis of its putative target mRNAs revealed enrichment in pathways classically linked to tumorigenesis – including “microRNAs in cancer” and “proteoglycans in cancer” – suggesting that ALDH1L1‐AS2 might contribute not only to the molecular pathogenesis of DMD but also to the increased cancer incidence observed in these patients (5). Although other studies have characterized the roles of various lncRNAs in platelet reactivity (1), Ewing sarcoma (2), luminal subtype breast cancer (3), and laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (4) to provide insights into disease mechanisms and potential biomarkers, ALDH1L1‐AS2 has been uniquely associated with DMD. Its identification as a hub in the ceRNA network positions it as a promising candidate for further research into how non‐coding RNAs orchestrate the interplay between miRNA and mRNA regulation in neuromuscular disorders and related tumorigenic processes (1,2,3,4,5).\n "}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n
\n
"}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "
\n
"}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "2"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "
\n
"}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "3"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "
\n
"}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "4"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "
\n
"}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "5"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "
\n
"}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Rehan Qayyum, Lewis C Becker, Diane M Becker, et al.
