ARSD-AS1 Gene

Name ARSD antisense RNA 1
Summary
{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n Recent work has shed light on the roles of ARSD and its antisense transcript, ARSD‐AS1, in breast cancer progression (1). In this study, the expression levels of both genes were evaluated in tumor tissues compared to adjacent normal tissues. Although ARSD was significantly up‐regulated in tumors relative to ARSD‐AS1, both transcripts were found at lower levels in tumor specimens than in normal tissue. High ARSD expression was associated with lower tumor grade, suggesting a potential protective role. Complementary bioinformatics analyses revealed that ARSD interacts with STS and SUMF1 proteins, which may contribute to the inhibition of sulfate activity, and its co-expressed genes are linked to oncogenic transcription factors such as MAF and GATA. Importantly, ARSD‐AS1 was found to harbor a TP53 transcription factor binding site and to interact with microRNA miR‐618, mechanisms that could underpin its involvement in tumor cell proliferation. Together, these findings suggest that ARSD‐AS1 may participate in regulatory networks that influence cancer cell growth and could serve as a promising target for breast cancer treatment (1)."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": ""}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Shabbou Bahramian, Fatemeh T Shamsabadi, Abdolreza Fazel, et al.
