CATIP-AS1 Gene

Name CATIP antisense RNA 1
Summary
{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n The long non‐coding RNA CATIP-AS1 appears to play a tumor suppressive role in thyroid cancer. In thyroid cancer tissues and cells, CATIP-AS1 is significantly downregulated, and its lower expression is associated with an unfavorable clinical outcome (1). Functional studies demonstrate that restoring CATIP-AS1 expression leads to the inhibition of cell proliferation, migration, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition, while promoting apoptosis. Mechanistically, CATIP-AS1 acts as a molecular sponge for miR-515-5p, thereby relieving the microRNA’s repressive effect on Smad4 and ultimately modulating pathways involved in cell growth and metastasis (1). In addition, expression profiling of thyroid cancer samples has identified CATIP-AS1 among a set of downregulated long non-coding RNAs that correlate with longer disease-free survival, underscoring its potential as a prognostic biomarker and a promising therapeutic target (2)."}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n "}, {"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": ""}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Fujian Qi, Ji'Ao Tang, Zhenling Cai, et al.
