CCND2-AS1 Gene

Name CCND2 antisense RNA 1
Summary
{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n Recent studies have demonstrated that the long non‐coding RNA (lncRNA) CCND2‐AS1 is aberrantly overexpressed in several cancer types and appears to promote tumor progression through multiple mechanisms. In malignant glioma, CCND2‐AS1 is markedly upregulated and enhances cell proliferation and growth by augmenting the Wnt/β‐catenin signaling pathway, suggesting its role in driving aggressive tumor behavior (1).\n\n In papillary thyroid carcinoma, elevated levels of CCND2‐AS1 were observed in cancer cell lines. Functional experiments showed that knockdown of CCND2‐AS1 not only suppressed cell proliferation but also reduced migration and invasion, with evidence pointing to regulation of epithelial–mesenchymal transition markers such as N‐cadherin and vimentin (2).\n\n Similarly, studies in breast cancer cell lines have revealed that CCND2‐AS1 is significantly overexpressed compared to normal breast epithelial cells. Although the detailed underlying mechanisms in breast cancer remain under investigation, initial gain‐ and loss‐of‐function experiments indicate that CCND2‐AS1 contributes to tumor progression, thus highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target (3).\n\n Overall, these findings suggest that CCND2‐AS1 plays a critical role in promoting tumorigenesis across multiple cancer types by modulating key signaling pathways, including Wnt/β‐catenin, and by influencing cellular processes such as proliferation, migration, and invasion."}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n "}, {"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_fs", "start_ref": "1", "end_ref": "3"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": ""}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Hua Zhang, Dai-Lin Wei, Long Wan, et al.
