FGF14-AS1 Gene

Name FGF14 antisense RNA 1
Summary
{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n In clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are shown to be integral components of the competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network, where they modulate gene expression and correlate with clinical outcomes. One of the lncRNAs implicated in this network is FGF14‐AS1, which appears to contribute to a prognostic signature that can independently predict patient survival by affecting mRNA regulation through competitive binding with microRNAs (1). In contrast, in undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma (UPS), FGF14‐AS1 is involved as a fusion partner in rearrangements with the retinoblastoma gene (RB1). The RB1–FGF14‐AS1 fusion, together with other similar fusions, is associated with the disruption of the Rb/E2F pathway, a key regulator of cell cycle progression and tumorigenesis (2). Collectively, these observations suggest that FGF14‐AS1 may play distinct roles depending on the cancer context: as a component of a prognostic ceRNA network in ccRCC and as a participant in oncogenic fusion events affecting cell cycle control in UPS.\n "}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n "}, {"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n Citations:."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": ""}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Hang Yin, Xiaoyuan Wang, Xue Zhang, et al.
