GK-AS1 Gene

Name GK antisense RNA 1
Summary
{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n In an inflammatory environment that influences the osteogenic differentiation of periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs), a group of previously unannotated long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) was identified. Among these, GK‑AS1 appears to play a regulatory role by acting as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA). GK‑AS1 is preferentially located in genomic regions adjacent to protein‐coding genes that are involved in stem cell maintenance, differentiation, developmental regulation, and inflammatory responses. Its expression pattern—together with the observation that many differentially expressed lncRNAs in PDLSCs can modulate protein‐coding transcripts by sequestering shared microRNAs—suggests that GK‑AS1 may contribute to the fine tuning of gene networks governing osteogenic differentiation in an inflammatory microenvironment (1)."}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n "}, {"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": ""}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Qingbin Zhang, Li Chen, Shiman Cui, et al.
