Name IQCJ-SCHIP1 readthrough antisense RNA 1
Summary
{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n IQCJ‐SCHIP1‐AS1 is a long non‐coding RNA that has recently been characterized for its functional impact in human diseases. While a comprehensive transcriptome analysis of first trimester human placentas (which profiled over 14,000 genes) provided crucial insights into placental development and sexual dimorphism (see"}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": ", it is the study in colorectal cancer (CRC) that specifically delineated the role of IQCJ‐SCHIP1‐AS1. In CRC, IQCJ‐SCHIP1‐AS1 expression is reduced by more than 2‐fold in approximately half of the tumor samples. Its downregulation is significantly associated with poor tumor differentiation, deeper tumor invasion, lymphatic invasion, advanced stage, and diminished patient prognosis. Functional experiments further indicate that depletion of IQCJ‐SCHIP1‐AS1 promotes tumor cell proliferation by accelerating cell cycle progression and impairing apoptosis. Bioinformatics analyses (including Gene Ontology, KEGG, and gene set enrichment) implicate its involvement in critical pathways such as cell cycle regulation, DNA replication, and the p53 signaling pathway. Collectively, these findings support a tumor suppressor role for IQCJ‐SCHIP1‐AS1 in CRC, suggesting that it may serve both as an independent prognostic biomarker and as a potential therapeutic target."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "2"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n "}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Tania L Gonzalez, Tianyanxin Sun, Alexander F Koeppel, et al.
