{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n Pharmacological inhibition of PCSK9 is widely used to treat hypercholesterolemia because plasma PCSK9 levels are closely linked to cardiovascular risk. In the genome‐wide association study of Brazilian individuals (1), while genetic variants in the PCSK9 locus itself account for only a small fraction of the interindividual variation in PCSK9 levels, additional regions of the genome were implicated. Among these, the long noncoding RNA LINC00353 emerged as a potential regulator. Although its precise mechanistic role remains to be fully elucidated, LINC00353 appears to be involved in the regulation of PCSK9 expression. This suggests that LINC00353 may influence cholesterol homeostasis and consequently cardiovascular disease risk by modulating the extent of PCSK9 activity. Further investigation is warranted to characterize the molecular pathways through which LINC00353 contributes to the regulation of plasma PCSK9 levels."}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n "}, {"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": ""}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Isabela Bensenor, Kallyandra Padilha, Isabella Ramos Lima, et al.
