{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n Recent transcriptomic studies have begun to shed light on the functions of various long non‐coding RNAs in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Although an extensive equine lncRNA catalog has been developed to annotate intergenic transcripts (1) and a comprehensive analysis of competing endogenous RNA networks has identified several lncRNAs as potential biomarkers in ischemic cardiomyopathy (2), only the ischemic stroke study specifically highlighted LINC00884. In that investigation, LINC00884 was found to be one of a group of differentially expressed lncRNAs whose altered expression in blood samples from ischemic stroke patients was validated across independent datasets (3). Its consistent dysregulation within a broader miRNA–lncRNA–mRNA interaction network suggests that LINC00884 may be involved in regulating gene expression during the pathophysiological response to stroke – possibly by influencing the balance of regulatory RNA interactions. Although its precise molecular role remains to be fully characterized, the reproducible association of LINC00884 with ischemic stroke underscores its potential both as a contributor to disease mechanisms and as a candidate biomarker for diagnostic applications."}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n "}, {"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_fs", "start_ref": "1", "end_ref": "3"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": ""}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "E Y Scott, T Mansour, R R Bellone, et al.
