LINC01246 Gene

Name long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1246
Summary
{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n This study describes the development and application of a RACE‐Seq workflow to comprehensively reannotate the human long non‐coding RNA (lncRNA) transcriptome by mapping full-length transcripts in seven different tissues. In this approach, 398 human lncRNA genes were targeted, leading to the discovery of 2,556 novel on-target transcripts with extended 5′ and 3′ boundaries that often coincide with canonical genomic hallmarks defining gene limits. Among these lncRNAs, LINC01246 is included within the analyzed gene set. Although the work primarily focuses on improving the structural annotation of lncRNAs—revealing that these RNAs are as long, contain as many exons, and undergo as much alternative splicing as protein-coding genes—the study does not provide direct insights into the specific biological function of LINC01246. Instead, the data suggest that, much like other lncRNAs, LINC01246 exhibits complex transcript architecture, challenging previous assumptions of lncRNA simplicity."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n "}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Julien Lagarde, Barbara Uszczynska-Ratajczak, Javier Santoyo-Lopez, et al.
