Functional assays, both in vitro and in vivo, have demonstrated that overexpression of LINC01488 significantly suppresses HCC cell proliferation and metastasis. Mechanistically, LINC01488 exerts its anti-tumorigenic effects through two complementary pathways. First, it binds directly to cyclin E, promoting its ubiquitination and subsequent degradation, which contributes to cell cycle regulation. Second, LINC01488 downregulates the expression of vimentin by modulating the activity of miR-124-3p and miR-138-5p, thereby further inhibiting tumor progression (1).
