{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n In a recent study on periodontitis, high‐throughput analysis identified a set of 50 hub long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) that were dysregulated in diseased tissues. Among these, three key differentially expressed lncRNAs—LINC00687, LBX2‐AS1, and LINC01566—were underscored as potential contributors to the pathogenesis of periodontitis (1). Although further functional studies were performed primarily on LBX2‐AS1 through the construction of a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network, the identification of LINC01566 as one of the hub differentially expressed lncRNAs suggests that it may play a regulatory role in modulating gene expression networks that underpin the immune and inflammatory responses associated with periodontitis. Dysregulation of these lncRNAs, including LINC01566, was linked to alterations in key pathways such as neutrophil activation, the JAK‐STAT signaling pathway, and vascular endothelial growth factor signaling, indicating that they might be integral to the molecular mechanisms driving tissue destruction in periodontitis.
