{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nRecent evidence in a murine model of trigeminal neuralgia has revealed that the long non‐coding RNA MALINC1 (also referred to as Gm14461) plays a critical role in modulating pain. In this model, silencing MALINC1 produced a significant analgesic effect, as demonstrated by an increased mechanical withdrawal threshold. Mechanistically, reduced MALINC1 expression attenuated astrocyte activation—evidenced by decreased glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) levels—and promoted autophagy. The enhanced autophagy upon MALINC1 silencing was mediated by the activation of the AMPK signaling pathway alongside the suppression of Akt/mTOR signaling.
