In the study, analysis of maternal whole blood revealed that MANEA‐AS1, along with other lncRNAs positioned either intergenically or adjacent to protein‐coding genes, is differentially expressed with advancing gestation. Although its precise molecular function has not yet been fully defined, the gestation‐dependent expression pattern of MANEA‐AS1 suggests that it may participate in the regulatory networks that facilitate the physiologic adaptations of pregnancy.
