| Name | microRNA 1468 |
| Description | microRNAs (miRNAs) are short (20-24 nt) non-coding RNAs that are involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in multicellular organisms by affecting both the stability and translation of mRNAs. miRNAs are transcribed by RNA polymerase II as part of capped and polyadenylated primary transcripts (pri-miRNAs) that can be either protein-coding or non-coding. The primary transcript is cleaved by the Drosha ribonuclease III enzyme to produce an approximately 70-nt stem-loop precursor miRNA (pre-miRNA), which is further cleaved by the cytoplasmic Dicer ribonuclease to generate the mature miRNA and antisense miRNA star (miRNA*) products. The mature miRNA is incorporated into a RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), which recognizes target mRNAs through imperfect base pairing with the miRNA and most commonly results in translational inhibition or destabilization of the target mRNA. The RefSeq represents the predicted microRNA stem-loop. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009] |

{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nIn cervical cancer, exosome‐encapsulated miR-1468-5p is secreted by tumor cells and functions as a potent mediator of immunosuppression. It directly targets HMBOX1 within the SOCS1 promoter in lymphatic endothelial cells (LECs), thereby epigenetically activating the JAK2/STAT3 signaling cascade. This activation leads to upregulation of PD-L1 and promotes lymphangiogenesis, which together impair T cell–mediated anti-tumor immunity. High serum levels of exosomal miR-1468-5p also correlate with an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment and poor prognosis in cervical cancer patients."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": ""}, {"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nIn glioblastoma, miR-1468 is integrated into a circRNA molecular sponge regulatory network that appears to influence key oncogenic pathways. Here, dysregulation of miR-1468—alongside its interacting circular RNAs—has been associated with poor patient outcomes. The network suggests that miR-1468 may modulate the expression of critical genes such as EGFR, PTEN, and ITGA4, thereby impacting processes like apoptosis, cell adhesion, and signal transduction. These findings hint at a role for miR-1468 as both a prognostic biomarker and a potential therapeutic target in glioblastoma."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "2"}]}]}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Chenfei Zhou, Wenfei Wei, Jing Ma, et al.
