MIR3529 Gene

HGNC Family Non-coding RNAs
Name microRNA 3529
Description microRNAs (miRNAs) are short (20-24 nt) non-coding RNAs that are involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in multicellular organisms by affecting both the stability and translation of mRNAs. miRNAs are transcribed by RNA polymerase II as part of capped and polyadenylated primary transcripts (pri-miRNAs) that can be either protein-coding or non-coding. The primary transcript is cleaved by the Drosha ribonuclease III enzyme to produce an approximately 70-nt stem-loop precursor miRNA (pre-miRNA), which is further cleaved by the cytoplasmic Dicer ribonuclease to generate the mature miRNA and antisense miRNA star (miRNA*) products. The mature miRNA is incorporated into a RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), which recognizes target mRNAs through imperfect base pairing with the miRNA and most commonly results in translational inhibition or destabilization of the target mRNA. The RefSeq represents the predicted microRNA stem-loop. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]
Summary
{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nIn lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), miR-3529-5p acts as a critical tumor suppressor factor by directly targeting RNASEH2A, a gene implicated in cell proliferation, DNA replication, and genomic stability. High levels of RNASEH2A in LUAD cells correlate with enhanced proliferation and reduced apoptosis, and the binding of miR-3529-5p to its mRNA normally helps to keep these oncogenic processes in check. This regulatory interaction was identified via expression analyses, which revealed that decreased miR-3529-5p or its sequestration by competing RNAs can lead to the upregulation of RNASEH2A, thereby promoting tumor growth."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "Furthermore, the study demonstrated that the long noncoding RNA LINC01287 competitively binds miR-3529-5p, effectively relieving the miRNA-mediated repression of RNASEH2A and contributing to LUAD progression. In addition, the transcription factor FOXA1 was shown to support this oncogenic axis by simultaneously upregulating both LINC01287 and RNASEH2A expression. Collectively, these findings highlight the pivotal role of miR-3529-5p within a regulatory network that controls cell proliferation and apoptosis in LUAD, suggesting that targeting this miRNA or its interacting partners might offer a promising therapeutic strategy."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": ""}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Jing Zhang, Dan Ma, Honggang Kang, et al.
