MIR4305 Gene

HGNC Family Non-coding RNAs
Name microRNA 4305
Description microRNAs (miRNAs) are short (20-24 nt) non-coding RNAs that are involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in multicellular organisms by affecting both the stability and translation of mRNAs. miRNAs are transcribed by RNA polymerase II as part of capped and polyadenylated primary transcripts (pri-miRNAs) that can be either protein-coding or non-coding. The primary transcript is cleaved by the Drosha ribonuclease III enzyme to produce an approximately 70-nt stem-loop precursor miRNA (pre-miRNA), which is further cleaved by the cytoplasmic Dicer ribonuclease to generate the mature miRNA and antisense miRNA star (miRNA*) products. The mature miRNA is incorporated into a RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), which recognizes target mRNAs through imperfect base pairing with the miRNA and most commonly results in translational inhibition or destabilization of the target mRNA. The RefSeq represents the predicted microRNA stem-loop. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]
Summary
{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nRBBP7, a highly conserved chromatin remodeling factor also referred to as retinoblastoma‐binding protein 7, plays multifaceted roles in regulating cell fate and gene expression across diverse biological contexts. In the mammary gland, RBBP7 collaborates with noncoding RNAs like mPINC and polycomb repressive complex 2 components to maintain alveolar progenitor cells during pregnancy by inhibiting terminal differentiation, thereby ensuring that milk production is appropriately delayed until parturition (1). In mouse oocytes, RBBP7 is recruited during maturation to promote histone deacetylation—a process essential for the proper localization and operation of the chromosomal passenger complex, which in turn safeguards accurate chromosome segregation (2). Its expression in uterine stromal cells during the peri-implantation period also underscores a critical role in decidualization, where RBBP7 facilitates histone H4 acetylation and cyclin D3 expression in response to progesterone signaling (3). Early embryonic expression of RBBP7 in developing kidney and brain tissues further suggests its involvement in transcriptional repression of mitogen-responsive genes such as c-FOS (4). In neurodegenerative settings, such as Alzheimer’s disease, diminished levels of RBBP7 are linked with aberrant tau acetylation and hyperphosphorylation—findings that point to a neuroprotective function through modulation of p300 activity (5). Moreover, loss-of-function mutations in RBBP7 have been associated with male infertility, where disrupted germ cell progression leads to maturation arrest and increases the risk of testicular tumors due to compromised cell cycle regulation and heightened apoptosis (6). Finally, a circular RNA variant, circRBBP7, encodes a functional 13‐kDa protein that promotes myoblast proliferation and differentiation, potentially by modulating the VEGFR-1/MDM2/p53 signaling axis to facilitate muscle regeneration (7)."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_fs", "start_ref": "1", "end_ref": "7"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n"}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Amy N Shore, Elena B Kabotyanski, Kevin Roarty, et al.
