| HGNC Family | Non-coding RNAs |
| Name | microRNA 4320 |
| Description | microRNAs (miRNAs) are short (20-24 nt) non-coding RNAs that are involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in multicellular organisms by affecting both the stability and translation of mRNAs. miRNAs are transcribed by RNA polymerase II as part of capped and polyadenylated primary transcripts (pri-miRNAs) that can be either protein-coding or non-coding. The primary transcript is cleaved by the Drosha ribonuclease III enzyme to produce an approximately 70-nt stem-loop precursor miRNA (pre-miRNA), which is further cleaved by the cytoplasmic Dicer ribonuclease to generate the mature miRNA and antisense miRNA star (miRNA*) products. The mature miRNA is incorporated into a RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), which recognizes target mRNAs through imperfect base pairing with the miRNA and most commonly results in translational inhibition or destabilization of the target mRNA. The RefSeq represents the predicted microRNA stem-loop. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009] |

{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nAlthough the query requested information on MIR4320, none of the provided abstracts mention or characterize any gene or microRNA by that name. Instead, these studies focus on the transcriptional regulation and functional properties of closely situated mouse RING finger protein genes (Rnf33 and Rnf35) during early embryogenesis. Two independent investigations revealed that Rnf33 and Rnf35 are expressed predominantly at the two‐cell stage with complex transcriptional initiation events—including alternative splicing, differential 3′ cleavage, and polyadenylation—as well as utilization of multiple and stage‐specific promoters, highlighting a permissive and opportunistic mode of gene expression in the preimplantation embryo."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n\n"}, {"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nAnother study characterized RNF33 (also referred to as Trim60) from a different perspective. Here, RNF33 was identified as a tripartite motif (TRIM) protein that, in addition to its transient embryonic expression, is present in adult testis. Through protein–protein interaction assays—including yeast two-hybrid screening and co-immunoprecipitation—RNF33 was shown to interact with the kinesin-2 motor subunits KIF3A and KIF3B, implicating it in kinesin-dependent transport along microtubules."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "3"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n\n"}, {"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nA further investigation into TRIM60, a close relative within the TRIM protein family, uncovered its role in modulating the innate immune response. In macrophages, TRIM60 dampens the activation of the TAK1 signalosome by promoting the SUMOylation of TAB2 at specific lysine residues. This modification hinders the assembly of the TRAF6/TAB2/TAK1 complex, resulting in reduced downstream activation of MAPK and NF‐κB signaling pathways and ultimately leading to a tempered production of proinflammatory cytokines. In vivo, TRIM60 deficiency correlates with heightened sensitivity to endotoxin-induced septic shock and bacterial infection."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "4"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n\n"}, {"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nIn summary, while these abstracts provide detailed insights into the roles of Rnf33/Rnf35 in early embryonic gene expression and of RNF33/TRIM60 in intracellular transport and innate immune regulation, they do not address any function for MIR4320.
