| Name | microRNA 4430 |
| Description | microRNAs (miRNAs) are short (20-24 nt) non-coding RNAs that are involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in multicellular organisms by affecting both the stability and translation of mRNAs. miRNAs are transcribed by RNA polymerase II as part of capped and polyadenylated primary transcripts (pri-miRNAs) that can be either protein-coding or non-coding. The primary transcript is cleaved by the Drosha ribonuclease III enzyme to produce an approximately 70-nt stem-loop precursor miRNA (pre-miRNA), which is further cleaved by the cytoplasmic Dicer ribonuclease to generate the mature miRNA and antisense miRNA star (miRNA*) products. The mature miRNA is incorporated into a RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), which recognizes target mRNAs through imperfect base pairing with the miRNA and most commonly results in translational inhibition or destabilization of the target mRNA. The RefSeq represents the predicted microRNA stem-loop. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009] |

The study revealed that lncRNA RP11-159D12.2 may serve as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) by binding to hsa‐miR‐4430, thereby modulating the expression of BIRC5—a gene enriched in mitotic nuclear division and found upregulated in tumor tissues. This ceRNA interaction suggests that MIR4430 facilitates the derepression of BIRC5, contributing to abnormal cell cycle regulation and tumor progression in esophageal cancer. Moreover, the observation that both BIRC5 and PLK1 (a hub gene in relevant protein–protein interaction modules) were upregulated and positively correlated with KHSRP further highlights the coordinated role of MIR4430 in this oncogenic process."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": ""}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Ling Chen, Tiejun Zhao "}, {"type": "b", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Identification of KHSRP-Regulated RNAs in Esophageal Cancer by Integrated Bioinformatics Analysis."}]}, {"type": "t", "text": " "}, {"type": "i", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Cancer Biother Radiopharm (2021)"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": " DOI: "}, {"type": "a", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "10.1089/cbr.2020.3745"}], "href": "https://doi.org/10.1089/cbr.2020.3745"}, {"type": "t", "text": " PMID: "}, {"type": "a", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "32673063"}], "href": "https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32673063"}]}]}]}
