MIR4465 Gene

HGNC Family Non-coding RNAs
Name microRNA 4465
Description microRNAs (miRNAs) are short (20-24 nt) non-coding RNAs that are involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in multicellular organisms by affecting both the stability and translation of mRNAs. miRNAs are transcribed by RNA polymerase II as part of capped and polyadenylated primary transcripts (pri-miRNAs) that can be either protein-coding or non-coding. The primary transcript is cleaved by the Drosha ribonuclease III enzyme to produce an approximately 70-nt stem-loop precursor miRNA (pre-miRNA), which is further cleaved by the cytoplasmic Dicer ribonuclease to generate the mature miRNA and antisense miRNA star (miRNA*) products. The mature miRNA is incorporated into a RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), which recognizes target mRNAs through imperfect base pairing with the miRNA and most commonly results in translational inhibition or destabilization of the target mRNA. The RefSeq represents the predicted microRNA stem-loop. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nRecent studies in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) reveal that miR‐4465 functions as a tumor‐suppressive microRNA. In NPC tissues, miR‐4465 is significantly downregulated compared to normal nasopharyngeal mucosa, and its low expression correlates with enhanced oncogenic characteristics. Mechanistically, miR‐4465 directly targets and inhibits EphA2, a key gene involved in promoting cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Moreover, loss of miR‐4465 contributes to the oncogenic activity of HDAC7, which regulates EphA2 expression. These findings indicate that restoration of miR‐4465 levels may suppress the aggressive behavior of NPC cells."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n\n"}, {"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nIn breast cancer, miR‐4465 also emerges as an important regulatory molecule, yet its role is defined through its inverse relationship with very low‐density lipoprotein receptor (VLDLR) expression. Clinical analyses demonstrate that high miR‐4465 levels correlate with reduced VLDLR expression in tumor samples, suggesting that miR‐4465 may contribute to breast cancer pathogenesis by downregulating VLDLR. This negative correlation underscores a potential mechanism where aberrant upregulation of miR‐4465 disrupts pathways dependent on VLDLR, thereby influencing disease development."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "2"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n"}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Hui Zhao, Aixia Wang, Zhiwei Zhang "}, {"type": "b", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "LncRNA SDHAP1 confers paclitaxel resistance of ovarian cancer by regulating EIF4G2 expression via miR-4465."}]}, {"type": "t", "text": " "}, {"type": "i", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "J Biochem (2020)"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": " DOI: "}, {"type": "a", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "10.1093/jb/mvaa036"}], "href": "https://doi.org/10.1093/jb/mvaa036"}, {"type": "t", "text": " PMID: "}, {"type": "a", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "32211849"}], "href": "https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32211849"}]}, {"type": "r", "ref": 2, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Abbas Mosapour, Fatemeh Soghra Karami Tehrani, Morteza Atri "}, {"type": "b", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Expression level of VLDL receptor and VLDL-c levels in the malignant and benign breast tumors: The correlation with miRNA-4465 and miRNA-1297."}]}, {"type": "t", "text": " "}, {"type": "i", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Mol Cell Probes (2020)"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": " DOI: "}, {"type": "a", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "10.1016/j.mcp.2020.101624"}], "href": "https://doi.org/10.1016/j.mcp.2020.101624"}, {"type": "t", "text": " PMID: "}, {"type": "a", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "32711022"}], "href": "https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32711022"}]}]}]}
