| Name | microRNA 5739 |
| Description | microRNAs (miRNAs) are short (20-24 nt) non-coding RNAs that are involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in multicellular organisms by affecting both the stability and translation of mRNAs. miRNAs are transcribed by RNA polymerase II as part of capped and polyadenylated primary transcripts (pri-miRNAs) that can be either protein-coding or non-coding. The primary transcript is cleaved by the Drosha ribonuclease III enzyme to produce an approximately 70-nt stem-loop precursor miRNA (pre-miRNA), which is further cleaved by the cytoplasmic Dicer ribonuclease to generate the mature miRNA and antisense miRNA star (miRNA*) products. The mature miRNA is incorporated into a RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), which recognizes target mRNAs through imperfect base pairing with the miRNA and most commonly results in translational inhibition or destabilization of the target mRNA. The RefSeq represents the predicted microRNA stem-loop. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009] |

For instance, Mex3B was shown to associate with Toll‐like receptor 3 (TLR3) in endosomes, where it binds double‐stranded RNA and enhances the receptor’s dsRNA‐binding activity and proteolytic activation. This process ultimately contributes to the induction of interferon‐β and the innate antiviral response."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n \nIn parallel, studies in allergic airway inflammation have revealed that Mex3B plays a pivotal role in upregulating interleukin‐33 (IL-33) expression. By counteracting miRNA-mediated repression (specifically miR-487b-3p), Mex3B facilitates the post-transcriptional induction of IL-33, thereby promoting the inflammatory cascade associated with allergic asthma."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "2"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n\nMoreover, Mex3B has been implicated in reproductive biology; in male mice, its deficiency leads to subfertility due to impaired Sertoli cell function.
