MIR6766 Gene

HGNC Family Non-coding RNAs
Name microRNA 6766
Description microRNAs (miRNAs) are short (20-24 nt) non-coding RNAs that are involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in multicellular organisms by affecting both the stability and translation of mRNAs. miRNAs are transcribed by RNA polymerase II as part of capped and polyadenylated primary transcripts (pri-miRNAs) that can be either protein-coding or non-coding. The primary transcript is cleaved by the Drosha ribonuclease III enzyme to produce an approximately 70-nt stem-loop precursor miRNA (pre-miRNA), which is further cleaved by the cytoplasmic Dicer ribonuclease to generate the mature miRNA and antisense miRNA star (miRNA*) products. The mature miRNA is incorporated into a RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), which recognizes target mRNAs through imperfect base pairing with the miRNA and most commonly results in translational inhibition or destabilization of the target mRNA. The RefSeq represents the predicted microRNA stem-loop. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nA careful review of the provided abstracts reveals that none contain any mention or functional characterization of MIR6766. Instead, the collection of studies focuses on elucidating the roles of CDC25 family phosphatases—most notably CDC25B—in regulating cell cycle progression, meiotic resumption, mitotic entry, and related cellular checkpoints in diverse mammalian systems, including oocytes, embryonic cells, neural progenitors, and other tissues. This body of work provides detailed insights into how post‐translational modifications (such as phosphorylation at key residues) and interactions with regulatory proteins (for example, 14-3-3 isoforms, protein kinase A, and p38 MAPK) govern the activation of cyclin-dependent kinases like CDK1."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_fs", "start_ref": "1", "end_ref": "22"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n\n"}, {"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nSeveral of the abstracts detail how CDC25B serves as a key “starter” phosphatase that removes inhibitory phosphates from CDK1, thereby promoting entry into M phase during both meiotic and mitotic divisions.
