MIR6783 Gene

HGNC Family Non-coding RNAs
Name microRNA 6783
Description microRNAs (miRNAs) are short (20-24 nt) non-coding RNAs that are involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in multicellular organisms by affecting both the stability and translation of mRNAs. miRNAs are transcribed by RNA polymerase II as part of capped and polyadenylated primary transcripts (pri-miRNAs) that can be either protein-coding or non-coding. The primary transcript is cleaved by the Drosha ribonuclease III enzyme to produce an approximately 70-nt stem-loop precursor miRNA (pre-miRNA), which is further cleaved by the cytoplasmic Dicer ribonuclease to generate the mature miRNA and antisense miRNA star (miRNA*) products. The mature miRNA is incorporated into a RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), which recognizes target mRNAs through imperfect base pairing with the miRNA and most commonly results in translational inhibition or destabilization of the target mRNA. The RefSeq represents the predicted microRNA stem-loop. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]
Summary
{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nIn lung adenocarcinoma, the microRNA MIR6783-3p serves as a key regulatory node within the circ_0006427/miR-6783-3p/DKK1 axis. Here, the circular RNA circ_0006427, which is downregulated in lung adenocarcinoma tissues and cell lines, functions as a molecular sponge that sequesters MIR6783-3p, thereby relieving its inhibitory effect on DKK1. The subsequent upregulation of DKK1 contributes to the suppression of cell proliferation, migration, and invasion through the inactivation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, positioning MIR6783-3p as a critical mediator of tumor progression in this context."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n \nFurthermore, in hepatocellular carcinoma treated with oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy, MIR6783-3p is implicated in the regulation of drug resistance. In this setting, MIR6783-3p is studied alongside the long intergenic noncoding RNA linc01559 to delineate its potential role in modulating chemosensitivity and therapeutic response. Although the detailed molecular mechanisms remain to be fully elucidated, these findings suggest that MIR6783-3p may contribute to the development of resistance against oxaliplatin by affecting key regulatory pathways involved in tumor cell survival."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "2"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n"}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Yuanshan Yao, Qingwang Hua, Yinjie Zhou "}, {"type": "b", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "CircRNA has_circ_0006427 suppresses the progression of lung adenocarcinoma by regulating miR-6783-3p/DKK1 axis and inactivating Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway."}]}, {"type": "t", "text": " "}, {"type": "i", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Biochem Biophys Res Commun (2019)"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": " DOI: "}, {"type": "a", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "10.1016/j.bbrc.2018.11.079"}], "href": "https://doi.org/10.1016/j.bbrc.2018.11.079"}, {"type": "t", "text": " PMID: "}, {"type": "a", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "30470570"}], "href": "https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30470570"}]}, {"type": "r", "ref": 2, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Shunbin Dong, Ying Fu, Kaibo Yang, et al.
