For example, studies in chronic lymphocytic leukemia have documented that Sema4D signaling reinforces pro‐survival pathways, while platelet‐derived Sema4D contributes to thrombus formation. Structural analyses have illuminated how Sema4D interacts with its receptors, and dysregulated expression of Sema4D has been implicated in autoimmune and inflammatory disorders such as systemic sclerosis, myeloid‐derived suppressor cell induction in the tumor microenvironment, MRONJ, psoriasis, and ankylosing spondylitis.
