SNAI3-AS1 Gene

Name SNAI3 antisense RNA 1
Summary
{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nRecent studies have revealed that the long noncoding RNA SNAI3‐AS1 is significantly up‐regulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues where it promotes tumor progression. In one study, higher SNAI3‐AS1 levels were correlated with increased expression of PEG10, a gene implicated in cancer cell proliferation and metastasis. Functional experiments demonstrated that silencing SNAI3‐AS1 led to reduced PEG10 expression and inhibited HCC cell proliferation and metastasis, whereas its overexpression enhanced these malignant behaviors. Mechanistically, SNAI3‐AS1 functions as a competing endogenous RNA by sponging miR‐27-3p and miR‐34a-5p, thereby activating PEG10 and driving the aggressive progression of HCC."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "Dis primis duis mauris potenti non at sociosqu ultricies massa. In additional investigations focused on HCC, SNAI3‐AS1 was also found to contribute to tumor progression by interacting with RNA-binding proteins. Notably, SNAI3‐AS1 binds to UPF1, leading to altered expression of Smad7 and subsequent activation of the TGF‑β/Smad signaling pathway. This activation promotes epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), further enhancing the proliferative and metastatic potential of HCC cells, and is associated with shorter overall survival in patients."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "2"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "Fusce class lectus fringilla commodo sit blandit pellentesque. Although the primary functional insights into SNAI3‐AS1 have been derived from studies in HCC, broader roles for long noncoding RNAs in tumor biology have been acknowledged, such as the regulation of ferroptosis in glioma. However, while ferroptosis is known to impact tumor progression and therapeutic resistance, the involvement of SNAI3‐AS1 in this form of cell death remains unclear and warrants further investigation."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "3"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": ""}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Yarui Li, Dan Guo, Guifang Lu, et al.
