{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nRecent research has expanded our understanding of noncoding RNAs in genomic stability by revealing a multifaceted role for RNAs beyond their canonical functions. In one study, a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the RHNO1 gene was newly identified and investigated for its involvement in the repair of DNA double‐strand breaks (DSBs). Within this regulatory context, SNORD113-5, a small nucleolar RNA, is emerging as a potential mediator that may operate in tandem with such lncRNAs. Although snoRNAs are classically known for guiding site-specific RNA modifications, SNORD113-5 appears to also contribute to the fine-tuning of the DSB repair mechanisms, possibly by facilitating the modification and stabilization of transcripts encoding key repair factors. This interplay suggests that SNORD113-5 might help orchestrate precise post-transcriptional events that are critical for an effective DNA damage response, thereby enhancing the repair capacity and overall genomic integrity of the cell."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n"}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Ni-Hao Gu, Wen-Long Zhao, Gui-Shuan Wang, et al.
