In LSCC, TM4SF19-AS1—a long non-coding antisense transcript associated with the TM4SF19 gene—has been found to be remarkably upregulated, suggesting that it plays a significant function in tumor progression. Evidence indicates that the aberrant expression of TM4SF19-AS1 may modulate key molecular mechanisms that govern cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and other processes integral to the tumorigenic phenotype, highlighting its potential value both as a diagnostic biomarker and as a therapeutic target in LSCC.
