{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\nIn a study investigating the genetic risk factors for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in a southern Han Chinese population, the testis‐specific protein Y‐encoded‐like‐4 (TSPYL-4) gene was evaluated for its role in pulmonary function. Analysis of multiple single-nucleotide polymorphisms revealed that the rs3749893 A allele of TSPYL-4 was significantly associated with a protective effect against the deterioration of lung function. Although haplotype analysis involving TSPYL-4 did not demonstrate a significant difference between COPD cases and controls, the findings suggest that genetic variation in TSPYL-4 may contribute to modulating susceptibility to COPD by influencing pulmonary parameters. This protective association highlights the potential importance of TSPYL-4 polymorphisms in maintaining lung function in populations at risk for COPD."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": ""}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Yi Guo, Yi Gong, Guochao Shi, et al.
