In gastric cancer, ZNF545 is downregulated and functions to inhibit tumor proliferation by promoting cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. Similar tumor‐suppressive roles have been demonstrated in colorectal and breast cancers, where ZNF545 expression is frequently silenced by promoter methylation.
