{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n In a recent report describing a de novo interstitial deletion of 15q21.1–q22.2—which was identified in a child presenting with coarctation of the aorta, partial agenesis of the corpus callosum, and mild to moderate developmental delay—the deleted interval encompasses several genes, including FAM227B (1). Although the precise role of FAM227B remains largely uncharacterized, its location within the deleted region suggests that loss of its normal function may contribute to the clinical manifestations observed. In this context, FAM227B is hypothesized to be involved in pathways pertinent to early developmental processes, potentially influencing both cardiac formation and neural development.
