LINC01225 Gene

Name long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1225
Summary
{"type": "root", "children": [{"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n LINC01225 has emerged as a critical oncogenic long non‐coding RNA that is upregulated in multiple cancers. In hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), LINC01225 is overexpressed and its elevated levels correlate with poor patient prognosis. Functional studies have demonstrated that attenuation of LINC01225 impairs cell proliferation and invasion, induces apoptosis and cell cycle arrest, and ultimately reduces tumor progression and metastasis. Mechanistically, LINC01225 exerts its oncogenic role through direct binding to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), which results in increased EGFR protein levels and subsequent activation of downstream signaling cascades such as the Ras/Raf/MEK/MAPK pathway. In addition, LINC01225 is involved in modulating the interaction between VersicanV1 and EGFR, thereby promoting aerobic glycolysis and the Warburg effect in HCC cells."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "1"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n "}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n "}, {"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n Beyond HCC, LINC01225 is also upregulated in gastric cancer, where its overexpression is associated with advanced disease stages and poorer overall survival. In this context, LINC01225 facilitates cancer progression by enhancing epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) through the activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, thus promoting cellular migration, invasion, and proliferation."}, {"type": "fg", "children": [{"type": "fg_f", "ref": "3"}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n "}]}, {"type": "t", "text": "\n "}, {"type": "p", "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "\n Moreover, the stable expression of LINC01225 in serum and its strong association with oncogenic signaling pathways highlight its potential utility as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker as well as a therapeutic target in cancer management.\n "}]}, {"type": "rg", "children": [{"type": "r", "ref": 1, "children": [{"type": "t", "text": "Guangyan Zhangyuan, Fei Wang, Haitian Zhang, et al.
