This enzyme harbors two conserved domains: a nudix hydrolase domain and a CoA‐binding domain, and it is directed to peroxisomes via a type 1 peroxisomal targeting signal located at its C-terminus. Functionally, RP2p hydrolyzes CoA, oxidized CoA, and a variety of CoA esters (including choloyl-CoA and branched-chain fatty acyl-CoA esters), showing a substrate preference toward medium and long-chain fatty acyl-CoA esters under low substrate conditions. Here, upregulation of NUDT19 by LINC00958 was shown to promote HCC progression by enhancing cell proliferation, migration, and the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) through activation of the mTORC1/P70S6K signaling pathway.
