Description This gene encodes a highly conserved protein which is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). The protein is linked to autophagy and ER stress. Loss of the TMEM208 ortholog leads to a spectrum of developmental defects—including abnormalities in wing and eye morphogenesis—and is associated with mild ER stress.
