DescriptionAnalysis of synovial fluid macrophages from 5 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The chronic inflammation and progressive joint destruction observed in RA are mediated in part by macrophages. Results provide insight into the molecular mechanisms underlying RA pathogenesis.
