CCR4 Genechemokine (C-C motif) receptor 4 The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the G-protein-coupled receptor family . It is a receptor for the CC chemokine - MIP-1, RANTES, TARC and MCP-1. Chemokines are a group of small polypeptide, structurally related molecules that regulate cell trafficking of various types of leukocytes. The chemokines also play fundamental roles in the development, homeostasis, and function of the immune system, and they have effects on cells of the central nervous system as well as on endothelial cells involved in angiogenesis or angiostasis. CNOT4 GeneCCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 4 The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the CCR4-NOT complex, a global transcriptional regulator. The encoded protein interacts with CNOT1 and has E3 ubiquitin ligase activity. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010] |

CCRN4L GeneCCR4 carbon catabolite repression 4-like (S. cerevisiae) The protein encoded by this gene is highly similar to Nocturnin, a gene identified as a circadian clock regulated gene in Xenopus laevis. This protein and Nocturnin protein share similarity with the C-terminal domain of a yeast transcription factor, carbon catabolite repression 4 (CCR4). The mRNA abundance of a similar gene in mouse has been shown to exhibit circadian rhythmicity, which suggests a role for this protein in clock function or as a circadian clock effector. CNOT8 GeneCCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 8 Enables poly(A)-specific ribonuclease activity. Involved in miRNA-mediated gene silencing by mRNA destabilization and positive regulation of cell population proliferation. Located in nucleus. Part of CCR4-NOT complex. CNOT2 GeneCCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 2 This gene encodes a subunit of the multi-component CCR4-NOT complex. The CCR4-NOT complex regulates mRNA synthesis and degradation and is also thought to be involved in mRNA splicing, transport and localization. The encoded protein interacts with histone deacetylases and functions as a repressor of polymerase II transcription. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed for this gene. CNOT1 GeneCCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 1 Enables armadillo repeat domain binding activity; molecular adaptor activity; and nuclear receptor binding activity. Contributes to poly(A)-specific ribonuclease activity. Involved in several processes, including negative regulation of intracellular signal transduction; positive regulation of cytoplasmic mRNA processing body assembly; and regulation of gene expression. Located in P-body and cytosol. Part of CCR4-NOT complex. Implicated in Vissers-Bodmer syndrome and holoprosencephaly 12. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025] |
CNOT7 GeneCCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 7 The protein encoded by this gene binds to an anti-proliferative protein, B-cell translocation protein 1, which negatively regulates cell proliferation. Binding of the two proteins, which is driven by phosphorylation of the anti-proliferative protein, causes signaling events in cell division that lead to changes in cell proliferation associated with cell-cell contact. The encoded protein downregulates the innate immune response and therefore provides a therapeutic target for enhancing its antimicrobial activity against foreign agents. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. Related pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 1 and X. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2016] |
CNOT6 GeneCCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 6 This gene encodes the catalytic component of the CCR4-NOT core transcriptional regulation complex. The encoded protein has a 3'-5' RNase activity and prefers polyadenylated substrates. The CCR4-NOT complex plays a role in many cellular processes, including miRNA-mediated repression, mRNA degradation, and transcriptional regulation. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014] |
