CNOT4 Gene

CCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 4

The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the CCR4-NOT complex, a global transcriptional regulator. The encoded protein interacts with CNOT1 and has E3 ubiquitin ligase activity. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]

CNOT2 Gene

CCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 2

This gene encodes a subunit of the multi-component CCR4-NOT complex. The CCR4-NOT complex regulates mRNA synthesis and degradation and is also thought to be involved in mRNA splicing, transport and localization. The encoded protein interacts with histone deacetylases and functions as a repressor of polymerase II transcription. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]

CNOT1 Gene

CCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 1

Enables armadillo repeat domain binding activity; molecular adaptor activity; and nuclear receptor binding activity. Contributes to poly(A)-specific ribonuclease activity. Involved in several processes, including negative regulation of intracellular signal transduction; positive regulation of cytoplasmic mRNA processing body assembly; and regulation of gene expression. Located in P-body and cytosol. Part of CCR4-NOT complex. Implicated in Vissers-Bodmer syndrome and holoprosencephaly 12. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

CNOT7 Gene

CCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 7

The protein encoded by this gene binds to an anti-proliferative protein, B-cell translocation protein 1, which negatively regulates cell proliferation. Binding of the two proteins, which is driven by phosphorylation of the anti-proliferative protein, causes signaling events in cell division that lead to changes in cell proliferation associated with cell-cell contact. The encoded protein downregulates the innate immune response and therefore provides a therapeutic target for enhancing its antimicrobial activity against foreign agents. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. Related pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 1 and X. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2016]

CNOT6 Gene

CCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 6

This gene encodes the catalytic component of the CCR4-NOT core transcriptional regulation complex. The encoded protein has a 3'-5' RNase activity and prefers polyadenylated substrates. The CCR4-NOT complex plays a role in many cellular processes, including miRNA-mediated repression, mRNA degradation, and transcriptional regulation. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]

CNOT11 Gene

CCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 11

Predicted to be involved in nuclear-transcribed mRNA poly(A) tail shortening. Part of CCR4-NOT complex. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

CNOT10 Gene

CCR4-NOT transcription complex, subunit 10

Predicted to be involved in mRNA catabolic process and negative regulation of translation. Located in membrane. Part of CCR4-NOT complex. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

CNOT9 Gene

CCR4-NOT transcription complex subunit 9

This gene encodes a member of the highly conserved RCD1 protein family. The encoded protein is a transcriptional cofactor and a core protein of the CCR4-NOT complex. It may be involved in signal transduction as well as retinoic acid-regulated cell differentiation and development. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2012]

CNOT12 Gene

CCR4-NOT transcription complex subunit 12

Enables ankyrin repeat binding activity and enzyme binding activity. Involved in cellular response to ionizing radiation; double-strand break repair; and positive regulation of protein phosphorylation. Located in several cellular components, including adherens junction; heterochromatin; and nucleus. Part of CCR4-NOT complex. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]
