VMO1 Gene

vitelline membrane outer layer 1 homolog (chicken)

Located in extracellular exosome. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

TOM1L2 Gene

target of myb1-like 2 (chicken)

This gene belongs to a small gene family whose members have an N-terminal VHS domain followed by a GAT domain; domains which typically participate in vesicular trafficking. The canonical protein encoded by this gene also has a C-terminal clathrin binding motif. This protein has been shown to interact with Tollip, clathrin and ubiquitin and is thought to play a role in endosomal sorting. This gene resides in the 3.7 Mb deletion of chromosome region 17p11.2 that is associated with Smith-Magenis syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2017]

NELL1 Gene

NEL-like 1 (chicken)

This gene encodes a cytoplasmic protein that contains epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like repeats. The encoded heterotrimeric protein may be involved in cell growth regulation and differentiation. A similar protein in rodents is involved in craniosynostosis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2013]

LIX1L Gene

Lix1 homolog (chicken) like

Predicted to be involved in autophagosome maturation. Predicted to be active in cytoplasm. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

TOM1L1 Gene

target of myb1 (chicken)-like 1

Enables clathrin binding activity and protein kinase binding activity. Involved in negative regulation of mitotic nuclear division; positive regulation of protein phosphorylation; and signal transduction. Located in cytosol and endosome. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

NELL2 Gene

NEL-like 2 (chicken)

The protein encoded by this gene is a glycoprotein containing several von Willebrand factor C domains and epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like domains. The encoded protein acts as a homotrimer and is found in the cytoplasm. Several variants encoding a few different isoforms exist, and at least one isoform appears to be a secreted protein. Studies in mouse suggest that this protein plays a role in neural cell growth and differentiation as well as in oncogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]

LIX1 Gene

Lix1 homolog (chicken)

Predicted to be involved in autophagosome maturation. Predicted to be active in cytoplasm. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

TOM1 Gene

target of myb1 (chicken)

This gene was identified as a target of the v-myb oncogene. The encoded protein shares its N-terminal domain in common with proteins associated with vesicular trafficking at the endosome. It is recruited to the endosomes by its interaction with endofin. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
