Name

OLFML1 Gene

olfactomedin-like 1

Predicted to be involved in signal transduction. Predicted to be located in extracellular region. Predicted to be active in extracellular space. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

OLFML3 Gene

olfactomedin-like 3

This gene encodes a member of the olfactomedin-like gene family which also includes genes encoding noelin, tiarin, myocilin, amassin, optimedin, photomedin, and latrophilin. The encoded protein is a secreted extracellular matrix glycoprotein with a C-terminal olfactomedin domain that facilitates protein-protein interactions, cell adhesion, and intercellular interactions. It serves as both a scaffold protein that recruits bone morphogenetic protein 1 to its substrate chordin, and as a vascular tissue remodeler with pro-angiogenic properties. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2017]

OLFML2B Gene

olfactomedin-like 2B

This gene encodes an olfactomedin domain-containing protein. Most olfactomedin domain-containing proteins are secreted glycoproteins. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2016]

OLFML2A Gene

olfactomedin-like 2A

Predicted to enable extracellular matrix binding activity and identical protein binding activity. Predicted to be involved in signal transduction. Predicted to act upstream of or within extracellular matrix organization. Predicted to be located in extracellular matrix and extracellular region. Predicted to be active in extracellular space. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

LOC101927763 Gene

olfactomedin-4-like

OLFM3 Gene

olfactomedin 3

Predicted to be involved in signal transduction. Predicted to be located in Golgi apparatus; extracellular region; and synapse. Predicted to be part of AMPA glutamate receptor complex. Predicted to be active in extracellular space. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

OLFM2 Gene

olfactomedin 2

Involved in positive regulation of smooth muscle cell differentiation. Acts upstream of or within protein secretion. Located in cytoplasm; extracellular region; and nucleoplasm. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

OLFM1 Gene

olfactomedin 1

This gene product shares extensive sequence similarity with the rat neuronal olfactomedin-related ER localized protein. While the exact function of the encoded protein is not known, its abundant expression in brain suggests that it may have an essential role in nerve tissue. Several alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

OLFM4 Gene

olfactomedin 4

This gene was originally cloned from human myeloblasts and found to be selectively expressed in inflammed colonic epithelium. This gene encodes a member of the olfactomedin family. The encoded protein is an antiapoptotic factor that promotes tumor growth and is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein that facilitates cell adhesion. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]

OLFM5P Gene

olfactomedin family member 5, pseudogene
