USP13 Geneubiquitin specific peptidase 13 (isopeptidase T-3) Enables several functions, including BAT3 complex binding activity; peptidase activity; and proteasome binding activity. Involved in several processes, including maintenance of unfolded protein; regulation of DNA-templated transcription; and regulation of catabolic process. Acts upstream of or within protein deubiquitination and protein stabilization. Predicted to be located in nucleoplasm. Predicted to be active in cytosol and nucleus. DESI2 Genedesumoylating isopeptidase 2 Enables deubiquitinase activity and long-chain fatty acyl-CoA hydrolase activity. Predicted to be involved in macromolecule depalmitoylation and proteolysis. Predicted to be located in cytoplasm. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025] |
DESI1 Genedesumoylating isopeptidase 1 Enables importin-alpha family protein binding activity and long-chain fatty acyl-CoA hydrolase activity. Involved in protein export from nucleus and regulation of proteasomal ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process. Located in cytosol. Part of protein-containing complex. USP5 Geneubiquitin specific peptidase 5 (isopeptidase T) Ubiquitin (see MIM 191339)-dependent proteolysis is a complex pathway of protein metabolism implicated in such diverse cellular functions as maintenance of chromatin structure, receptor function, and degradation of abnormal proteins. A late step of the process involves disassembly of the polyubiquitin chains on degraded proteins into ubiquitin monomers. USP5 disassembles branched polyubiquitin chains by a sequential exo mechanism, starting at the proximal end of the chain (Wilkinson et al., 1995 [PubMed 7578059]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2010] |
