LOC100419991 Gene

phosphoserine phosphatase pseudogene

PSAT1P3 Gene

phosphoserine aminotransferase 1 pseudogene 3

PSAT1P1 Gene

phosphoserine aminotransferase 1 pseudogene 1

PSAT1P4 Gene

phosphoserine aminotransferase 1 pseudogene 4

PSAT1 Gene

phosphoserine aminotransferase 1

This gene encodes a member of the class-V pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family. The encoded protein is a phosphoserine aminotransferase and decreased expression may be associated with schizophrenia. Mutations in this gene are also associated with phosphoserine aminotransferase deficiency. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Pseudogenes of this gene have been defined on chromosomes 1, 3, and 8. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]

PSPHP1 Gene

phosphoserine phosphatase pseudogene 1

This gene is significantly upregulated in Fanconi's anemia fibroblasts but downregulated or absent in fibroblasts from normal donors. It is also highly expressed in FA B-cells of complementation group A. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

SEPSECS Gene

Sep (O-phosphoserine) tRNA:Sec (selenocysteine) tRNA synthase

The amino acid selenocysteine is the only amino acid that does not have its own tRNA synthetase. Instead, this amino acid is synthesized on its cognate tRNA in a three step process. The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the third step in the process, the conversion of O-phosphoseryl-tRNA(Sec) to selenocysteinyl-tRNA(Sec).[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]

PSPH Gene

phosphoserine phosphatase

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a subfamily of the phosphotransferases. This encoded enzyme is responsible for the third and last step in L-serine formation. It catalyzes magnesium-dependent hydrolysis of L-phosphoserine and is also involved in an exchange reaction between L-serine and L-phosphoserine. Deficiency of this protein is thought to be linked to Williams syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
