APPL1 Gene

adaptor protein, phosphotyrosine interaction, PH domain and leucine zipper containing 1

The protein encoded by this gene has been shown to be involved in the regulation of cell proliferation, and in the crosstalk between the adiponectin signalling and insulin signalling pathways. The encoded protein binds many other proteins, including RAB5A, DCC, AKT2, PIK3CA, adiponectin receptors, and proteins of the NuRD/MeCP1 complex. This protein is found associated with endosomal membranes, but can be released by EGF and translocated to the nucleus. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

APPL2 Gene

adaptor protein, phosphotyrosine interaction, PH domain and leucine zipper containing 2

The protein encoded by this gene is one of two effectors of the small GTPase RAB5A/Rab5, which are involved in a signal transduction pathway. Both effectors contain an N-terminal Bin/Amphiphysin/Rvs (BAR) domain, a central pleckstrin homology (PH) domain, and a C-terminal phosphotyrosine binding (PTB) domain, and they bind the Rab5 through the BAR domain. They are associated with endosomal membranes and can be translocated to the nucleus in response to the EGF stimulus. They interact with the NuRD/MeCP1 complex (nucleosome remodeling and deacetylase /methyl-CpG-binding protein 1 complex) and are required for efficient cell proliferation. A chromosomal aberration t(12;22)(q24.1;q13.3) involving this gene and the PSAP2 gene results in 22q13.3 deletion syndrome, also known as Phelan-McDermid syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]

DAPP1 Gene

dual adaptor of phosphotyrosine and 3-phosphoinositides

Enables phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate binding activity and phosphatidylinositol-3,4-bisphosphate binding activity. Predicted to be involved in protein dephosphorylation and signal transduction. Located in plasma membrane. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

PID1 Gene

phosphotyrosine interaction domain containing 1

Involved in several processes, including negative regulation of D-glucose import; negative regulation of phosphate metabolic process; and positive regulation of metabolic process. Located in cytoplasm. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

ARMT1 Gene

acidic residue methyltransferase 1

Enables S-adenosylmethionine-dependent methyltransferase activity; enzyme binding activity; and protein carboxyl O-methyltransferase activity. Involved in DNA damage response. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

UBA52 Gene

ubiquitin A-52 residue ribosomal protein fusion product 1

Ubiquitin is a highly conserved nuclear and cytoplasmic protein that has a major role in targeting cellular proteins for degradation by the 26S proteosome. It is also involved in the maintenance of chromatin structure, the regulation of gene expression, and the stress response. Ubiquitin is synthesized as a precursor protein consisting of either polyubiquitin chains or a single ubiquitin moiety fused to an unrelated protein. This gene encodes a fusion protein consisting of ubiquitin at the N terminus and ribosomal protein L40 at the C terminus, a C-terminal extension protein (CEP). Multiple processed pseudogenes derived from this gene are present in the genome. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
