Name

SATL1 Gene

spermidine/spermine N1-acetyl transferase-like 1

Predicted to enable diamine N-acetyltransferase activity and spermidine binding activity. Predicted to be involved in spermidine acetylation. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

SRMP2 Gene

spermidine synthase pseudogene 2

SRMP1 Gene

spermidine synthase pseudogene 1

SRM Gene

spermidine synthase

The polyamines putrescine, spermine, and spermidine are ubiquitous polycationic mediators of cell growth and differentiation. Spermidine synthase is one of four enzymes in the polyamine-biosynthetic pathway and carries out the final step of spermidine biosynthesis. This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of putrescine to spermidine using decarboxylated S-adenosylmethionine as the cofactor. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

LOC100419085 Gene

spermidine synthase pseudogene

SAT1 Gene

spermidine/spermine N1-acetyltransferase 1

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the acetyltransferase family, and is a rate-limiting enzyme in the catabolic pathway of polyamine metabolism. It catalyzes the acetylation of spermidine and spermine, and is involved in the regulation of the intracellular concentration of polyamines and their transport out of cells. Defects in this gene are associated with keratosis follicularis spinulosa decalvans (KFSD). Alternatively spliced transcripts have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

SAT2 Gene

spermidine/spermine N1-acetyltransferase family member 2

Enables diamine N-acetyltransferase activity and identical protein binding activity. Involved in polyamine metabolic process. Located in extracellular exosome. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]
