RMI2 Gene

RecQ mediated genome instability 2

RMI2 is a component of the BLM (RECQL3; MIM 604610) complex, which plays a role in homologous recombination-dependent DNA repair and is essential for genome stability (Xu et al., 2008 [PubMed 18923082]).[supplied by OMIM, Nov 2008]

MGME1 Gene

mitochondrial genome maintenance exonuclease 1

The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear-encoded mitochondrial protein necessary for the maintenance of mitochondrial genome synthesis. The encoded protein is a RecB-type exonuclease and primarily cleaves single-stranded DNA. Defects in this gene have been associated with mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome-11. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2015]

RMI1 Gene

RecQ mediated genome instability 1

Predicted to enable nucleotide binding activity. Involved in double-strand break repair via homologous recombination and resolution of DNA recombination intermediates. Located in nuclear body. Part of RecQ family helicase-topoisomerase III complex. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]
