SHOC2 Gene

soc-2 suppressor of clear homolog (C. elegans)

This gene encodes a protein that consists almost entirely of leucine-rich repeats, a domain implicated in protein-protein interactions. The protein may function as a scaffold linking RAS to downstream signal transducers in the RAS/ERK MAP kinase signaling cascade. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Noonan-like syndrome with loose anagen hair. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

LACAT1 Gene

lung adenocarcinoma-associated transcript 1

LACAT8 Gene

lung adenocarcinoma-associated transcript 8

MALAT1 Gene

metastasis associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1 (non-protein coding)

This gene produces a precursor transcript from which a long non-coding RNA is derived by RNase P cleavage of a tRNA-like small ncRNA (known as mascRNA) from its 3' end. The resultant mature transcript lacks a canonical poly(A) tail but is instead stabilized by a 3' triple helical structure. This transcript is retained in the nucleus where it is thought to form molecular scaffolds for ribonucleoprotein complexes. It may act as a transcriptional regulator for numerous genes, including some genes involved in cancer metastasis and cell migration, and it is involved in cell cycle regulation. Its upregulation in multiple cancerous tissues has been associated with the proliferation and metastasis of tumor cells. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2015]

OVAAL Gene

ovarian adenocarcinoma amplified long non-coding RNA

Predicted to enable pre-mRNA branch point binding activity. Predicted to be involved in mRNA branch site recognition. Predicted to be part of U2 snRNP. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

GAPLINC Gene

gastric adenocarcinoma associated, positive CD44 regulator, long intergenic non-coding RNA

CAHM Gene

colon adenocarcinoma hypermethylated (non-protein coding)
