MYB-AS1 GeneMYB antisense RNA 1 |
MYB Genev-myb avian myeloblastosis viral oncogene homolog This gene encodes a protein with three HTH DNA-binding domains that functions as a transcription regulator. This protein plays an essential role in the regulation of hematopoiesis. This gene may be aberrently expressed or rearranged or undergo translocation in leukemias and lymphomas, and is considered to be an oncogene. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016] |

MYBBP1A GeneMYB binding protein (P160) 1a This gene encodes a nucleolar transcriptional regulator that was first identified by its ability to bind specifically to the Myb proto-oncogene protein. The encoded protein is thought to play a role in many cellular processes including response to nucleolar stress, tumor suppression and synthesis of ribosomal DNA. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013] |

Involved in chromatin remodeling; positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II; and regulation of hemopoiesis. Located in nucleolus and nucleoplasm. Part of protein-containing complex. Implicated in diabetic retinopathy. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025] |
MYBL1 Genev-myb avian myeloblastosis viral oncogene homolog-like 1 Enables DNA-binding transcription activator activity, RNA polymerase II-specific and RNA polymerase II cis-regulatory region sequence-specific DNA binding activity. Involved in positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Located in nucleoplasm. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025] |
MYBL2 Genev-myb avian myeloblastosis viral oncogene homolog-like 2 The protein encoded by this gene, a member of the MYB family of transcription factor genes, is a nuclear protein involved in cell cycle progression. The encoded protein is phosphorylated by cyclin A/cyclin-dependent kinase 2 during the S-phase of the cell cycle and possesses both activator and repressor activities. It has been shown to activate the cell division cycle 2, cyclin D1, and insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 5 genes. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013] |
DMTF1 Genecyclin D binding myb-like transcription factor 1 This gene encodes a transcription factor that contains a cyclin D-binding domain, three central Myb-like repeats, and two flanking acidic transactivation domains at the N- and C-termini. The encoded protein is induced by the oncogenic Ras signaling pathway and functions as a tumor suppressor by activating the transcription of ARF and thus the ARF-p53 pathway to arrest cell growth or induce apoptosis. It also activates the transcription of aminopeptidase N and may play a role in hematopoietic cell differentiation. The transcriptional activity of this protein is regulated by binding of D-cyclins. This gene is hemizygously deleted in approximately 40% of human non-small-cell lung cancer and is a potential prognostic and gene-therapy target for non-small-cell lung cancer. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008] |
