Name

TRIB1 Gene

tribbles pseudokinase 1

Enables RNA polymerase II-specific DNA-binding transcription factor binding activity; mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase binding activity; and protein kinase inhibitor activity. Involved in several processes, including JNK cascade; negative regulation of lipopolysaccharide-mediated signaling pathway; and regulation of protein kinase activity. Located in cytoplasm and nucleus. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

TRIB2 Gene

tribbles pseudokinase 2

This gene encodes one of three members of the Tribbles family. The Tribbles members share a Trb domain, which is homologous to protein serine-threonine kinases, but lacks the active site lysine and probably lacks a catalytic function. The Tribbles proteins interact and modulate the activity of signal transduction pathways in a number of physiological and pathological processes. This Tribbles member induces apoptosis of cells mainly of the hematopoietic origin. It has been identified as a protein up-regulated by inflammatory stimuli in myeloid (THP-1) cells, and also as an oncogene that inactivates the transcription factor C/EBPalpha (CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein alpha) and causes acute myelogenous leukemia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009]

TRIB3 Gene

tribbles pseudokinase 3

The protein encoded by this gene is a putative protein kinase that is induced by the transcription factor NF-kappaB. The encoded protein is a negative regulator of NF-kappaB and can also sensitize cells to TNF- and TRAIL-induced apoptosis. In addition, this protein can negatively regulate the cell survival serine-threonine kinase AKT1. Differential promoter usage and alternate splicing result in multiple transcript variants. PRAG1 Gene

PEAK1 related, kinase-activating pseudokinase 1

This gene encodes an enzyme that belongs to the tyrosine protein kinase family. A similar protein in rat binds to Rho family GTPase 2 (Rnd2) and regulates neurite outgrowth via activation of Ras homolog gene family, member A (RhoA). [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014]
