AES Gene

amino-terminal enhancer of split

The protein encoded by this gene is similar in sequence to the amino terminus of Drosophila enhancer of split groucho, a protein involved in neurogenesis during embryonic development. The encoded protein, which belongs to the groucho/TLE family of proteins, can function as a homooligomer or as a heteroologimer with other family members to dominantly repress the expression of other family member genes. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

SHFLD3 Gene

Split-hand/foot malformation with long bone deficiency 3

SHFLD2 Gene

Split-hand/foot malformation with long deficiency 2

SHFL1 Gene

Split-hand/foot malformation with long bone deficiency 1

TLE1P1 Gene

transducin-like enhancer of split 1 pseudogene 1

TLE3 Gene

transducin-like enhancer of split 3

This gene encodes a transcriptional co-repressor protein that belongs to the transducin-like enhancer family of proteins. The members of this family function in the Notch signaling pathway that regulates determination of cell fate during development. Expression of this gene has been associated with a favorable outcome to chemotherapy with taxanes for ovarian carcinoma. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Additional alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but their full-length nature is not known. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]

TLE2 Gene

transducin-like enhancer of split 2

Enables transcription corepressor activity. Involved in negative regulation of DNA-templated transcription and negative regulation of canonical Wnt signaling pathway. Located in focal adhesion and nuclear body. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

TLE1 Gene

transducin-like enhancer of split 1 (E(sp1) homolog, Drosophila)

Enables DNA-binding transcription factor binding activity; identical protein binding activity; and transcription corepressor activity. Involved in negative regulation of anoikis; negative regulation of signal transduction; and regulation of gene expression. Located in cytosol and nucleoplasm. Part of beta-catenin-TCF complex. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

TLE6 Gene

transducin-like enhancer of split 6

This gene encodes a member of the Groucho/ transducin-like Enhancer of split family of transcriptional co-repressors. The encoded protein is a component of the mammalian subcortical maternal complex, which is required for preimplantation development. In mouse, knock out of this gene results in cleavage-stage embryonic arrest resulting from defective cytoplasmic F-actin meshwork formation and asymmetric cell division. In human, an allelic variant in this gene is associated with preimplantation embryonic lethality. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]

TLE4 Gene

transducin-like enhancer of split 4

Predicted to enable transcription corepressor activity. Predicted to be involved in negative regulation of canonical Wnt signaling pathway and negative regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Predicted to act upstream of or within Wnt signaling pathway; cellular response to leukemia inhibitory factor; and negative regulation of DNA-templated transcription. Located in nucleoplasm. Part of beta-catenin-TCF complex. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

SHFM1P1 Gene

split hand/foot malformation (ectrodactyly) type 1 pseudogene 1

SHFM3 Gene

Split-hand/foot malformation 3

SHFM2 Gene

split hand/foot malformation (ectrodactyly) type 2

SHFM1 Gene

split hand/foot malformation (ectrodactyly) type 1

The product of this gene has been localized within the split hand/split foot malformation locus SHFM1 at chromosome 7. It has been proposed to be a candidate gene for the autosomal dominant form of the heterogeneous limb developmental disorder split hand/split foot malformation type 1. In addition, it has been shown to directly interact with BRCA2. It also may play a role in the completion of the cell cycle. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
