Name

SNRNP48 Gene

small nuclear ribonucleoprotein 48kDa (U11/U12)

Predicted to enable metal ion binding activity. Predicted to be involved in RNA splicing. Located in cytosol and nucleoplasm. Part of U12-type spliceosomal complex. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

RNU4ATAC Gene

RNA, U4atac small nuclear (U12-dependent splicing)

The small nuclear RNA (snRNA) encoded by this gene is part of the U12-dependent minor spliceosome complex. In addition to the encoded RNA, this ribonucleoprotein complex consists of U11, U12, U5, and U6atac snRNAs. The U12-dependent spliceosome acts on approximately 700 specific introns in the human genome. Defects in this gene are a cause of microcephalic osteodysplastic primordial dwarfism type 1 (MOPD). RNU6ATAC Gene

RNA, U6atac small nuclear (U12-dependent splicing)

Predicted to enable U4atac snRNA binding activity and pre-mRNA 5'-splice site binding activity. Predicted to be involved in mRNA 5'-splice site recognition and spliceosomal tri-snRNP complex assembly. Predicted to be part of U6atac snRNP. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

SNRNP25 Gene

small nuclear ribonucleoprotein 25kDa (U11/U12)

Two types of spliceosomes catalyze splicing of pre-mRNAs. The major U2-type spliceosome is found in all eukaryotes and removes U2-type introns, which represent more than 99% of pre-mRNA introns. The minor U12-type spliceosome is found in some eukaryotes and removes U12-type introns, which are rare and have distinct splice consensus signals. The U12-type spliceosome consists of several small nuclear RNAs and associated proteins. This gene encodes a 25K protein that is a component of the U12-type spliceosome. RNU12 Gene

RNA, U12 small nuclear

Predicted to enable pre-mRNA branch point binding activity. Predicted to be involved in negative regulation of neuron apoptotic process. Predicted to act upstream of or within RNA splicing. Predicted to be part of U12 snRNP. Implicated in autosomal recessive spinocerebellar ataxia 33. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

RNU12-2P Gene

RNA, U12 small nuclear 2, pseudogene

SNRNP35 Gene

small nuclear ribonucleoprotein 35kDa (U11/U12)

The protein encoded by this gene is a homolog of the U1-snRNP binding protein. The N-terminal half contains a RNA recognition motif and the C-terminal half is rich in Arg/Asp and Arg/Glu dipeptides, which is a characteristic of a variety of splicing factors. This protein is a component of the U11/U12 small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNP) that form part of the U12-type spliceosome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms and representing a non-protein coding variant. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]
