Name

RNGTT Gene

RNA guanylyltransferase and 5'-phosphatase

Enables inorganic triphosphate phosphatase activity and mRNA guanylyltransferase activity. Involved in 7-methylguanosine mRNA capping. Predicted to be located in nucleoplasm. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

RNGTTP1 Gene

RNA guanylyltransferase and 5'-phosphatase pseudogene 1

THG1L Gene

tRNA-histidine guanylyltransferase 1-like (S. cerevisiae)

The protein encoded by this gene is a mitochondrial protein that is induced by high levels of glucose and is associated with diabetic nephropathy. The encoded protein appears to increase mitochondrial biogenesis, which could lead to renal fibrosis. Another function of this protein is that of a guanyltransferase, adding GMP to the 5' end of tRNA(His). Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]

FUOM Gene

fucose mutarotase

Predicted to enable L-fucose mutarotase activity and fucose binding activity. Predicted to be involved in GDP-L-fucose salvage; fucose metabolic process; and fucosylation. Predicted to act upstream of or within female mating behavior and negative regulation of neuron differentiation. Predicted to be active in cytosol. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

SLC35C2 Gene

solute carrier family 35 (GDP-fucose transporter), member C2

This gene encodes a member of the triose-phosphate transporter protein family. This gene is regulated by oxygen tension, is induced in hypoxic trophoblast cells, and is overexpressed in ovarian cancer. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A pseudogene of this gene has been defined on the X chromosome. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]

SLC35C1 Gene

solute carrier family 35 (GDP-fucose transporter), member C1

This gene encodes a GDP-fucose transporter that is found in the Golgi apparatus. Mutations in this gene result in congenital disorder of glycosylation type IIc. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]

LOC100129483 Gene

solute carrier family 35 (GDP-fucose transporter), member C2 pseudogene

GFUS Gene

GDP-L-fucose synthase

Tissue specific transplantation antigen P35B is a NADP(H)-binding protein. It catalyze the two-step epimerase and the reductase reactions in GDP-D-mannose metabolism, converting GDP-4-keto-6-D-deoxymannose to GDP-L-fucose. GDP-L-fucose is the substrate of several fucosyltransferases involved in the expression of many glycoconjugates, including blood group ABH antigens and developmental adhesion antigens. Mutations in this gene may cause leukocyte adhesion deficiency, type II. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

FCSK Gene

fucose kinase

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the GHMP (galacto-, homoserine, mevalonate and phosphomevalonate) kinase family and catalyzes the phosphorylation of L-fucose to form beta-L-fucose 1-phosphate. This enzyme catalyzes the first step in the utilization of free L-fucose in glycoprotein and glycolipid synthesis. L-fucose may be important in mediating a number of cell-cell interactions such as blood group antigen recognition, inflammation, and metastatis. While several transcript variants may exist for this gene, the full-length nature of only one has been described to date. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
