LOC646012 Gene

aurora kinase A interacting protein 1 pseudogene

LOC100420990 Gene

aurora kinase A interacting protein 1 pseudogene

AURKA Gene

aurora kinase A

The protein encoded by this gene is a cell cycle-regulated kinase that appears to be involved in microtubule formation and/or stabilization at the spindle pole during chromosome segregation. The encoded protein is found at the centrosome in interphase cells and at the spindle poles in mitosis. This gene may play a role in tumor development and progression. A processed pseudogene of this gene has been found on chromosome 1, and an unprocessed pseudogene has been found on chromosome 10. Multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

AURKB Gene

aurora kinase B

This gene encodes a member of the aurora kinase subfamily of serine/threonine kinases. The genes encoding the other two members of this subfamily are located on chromosomes 19 and 20. These kinases participate in the regulation of alignment and segregation of chromosomes during mitosis and meiosis through association with microtubules. A pseudogene of this gene is located on chromosome 8. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

AURKC Gene

aurora kinase C

This gene encodes a member of the Aurora subfamily of serine/threonine protein kinases. The encoded protein is a chromosomal passenger protein that forms complexes with Aurora-B and inner centromere proteins and may play a role in organizing microtubules in relation to centrosome/spindle function during mitosis. This gene is overexpressed in several cancer cell lines, suggesting an involvement in oncogenic signal transduction. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. LOC100418961 Gene

aurora kinase A pseudogene

BORA Gene

bora, aurora kinase A activator

BORA is an activator of the protein kinase Aurora A (AURKA; MIM 603072), which is required for centrosome maturation, spindle assembly, and asymmetric protein localization during mitosis (Hutterer et al., 2006 [PubMed 16890155]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

AURKAIP1 Gene

aurora kinase A interacting protein 1

Acts upstream of or within positive regulation of proteolysis. Located in mitochondrial matrix and nucleoplasm. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]

AURKBPS1 Gene

aurora kinase B pseudogene 1

AURKAPS1 Gene

aurora kinase A pseudogene 1

AURKAPS2 Gene

aurora kinase A pseudogene 2

AUNIP Gene

aurora kinase A and ninein interacting protein

Enables damaged DNA binding activity. Involved in double-strand break repair via homologous recombination; negative regulation of double-strand break repair via nonhomologous end joining; and spindle organization. Located in centrosome; site of DNA damage; and spindle pole. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025]
